Terms of Use

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Brandon Marquart, who runs Sunroom. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Sunroom.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Plant care guidance and AI

• Sunroom offers general guidance for looking after houseplants: schedules, tips, plant identification and health scans.
• Identifications and health scans are generated automatically by AI from your photos and can be wrong. Health scan results describe likely causes, not certain diagnoses.
• Guidance is for information only. You decide how to care for your plants, and we are not responsible for the loss of or damage to any plant.
• Sunroom does not tell you whether a plant is safe to touch or eat, or safe around pets or children. For that, check a reliable source such as your vet or a poison control service.

Free and Premium plans

• The free plan includes plant care, reminders, the room, search by name, 2 photo plant IDs a week and 1 health scan a month.
• Premium includes 50 health scans and 20 photo plant IDs a month (up to 5 photo IDs a day). We may change what each plan includes, and we will tell you in the app before a change affects a subscription you have already paid for.
• Premium is bought through the App Store and billed by Apple. It renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• The yearly plan may start with a free trial, once per Apple ID. You are charged for the year when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it does. We send a reminder two days before if you allow notifications.
• Deleting your Sunroom account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

Your content

Your photos, notes and plant data belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them, including through our AI provider, only as needed to run Sunroom for you. We do not use your photos for advertising or sell them. Only upload photos you have the right to use.

Fair use

• Do not try to get around plan limits, for example with multiple accounts or automated requests.
• Do not misuse the service: no scraping, reverse engineering, interfering with its operation, or uploading unlawful content.
• We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Changes to Sunroom and these terms

We keep improving Sunroom and may change or stop features. If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we will ask you to accept them again in the app. If you do not accept, you can delete your account.

Disclaimers and liability

Sunroom is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise the app will always be available or error-free, or that AI results will be accurate.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that is more. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Sunroom or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise. Questions? Contact us at support@trysunroom.com.
